A partner for the diaspora
Building in Cameroonfrom the diaspora
A single, independent point of contact, so you can build with confidence from France, Belgium, the United States or Canada.
Living abroad should never mean losing control of your construction project in Cameroon. Here is how we make that control possible, remotely.
Building back home from abroad: the real difficulties
Remote construction is one of the projects that worries the Cameroonian diaspora most — and for good reason. It is hard to check whether the money you send is really funding progress on site, hard to judge the quality of the materials delivered without being there, and hard to trust a relative or an informal middleman who has neither a contractual obligation nor any professional liability.
These difficulties are not inevitable: they almost always stem from the lack of a single, qualified and independent point of contact between the client and the company carrying out the works.
Our method for diaspora clients
YAMBE Architectes acts as that single point of contact: we design the project, select and check the contractors, and supervise the site on your behalf — without ever being the contractor ourselves. This independence is what allows us to defend your interests without any conflict of interest.
In practice, you receive regular reports with progress photos and videos, you can talk to our team by phone, WhatsApp or video call, and you always have a clear view of what has been done, what remains to be done, and how the budget is being spent.
Building in Cameroon from France, Belgium, the United States or Canada
We support clients living in France, Belgium, the United States, Canada and other countries. Time differences and distance are built into our organisation: progress meetings scheduled at compatible times, structured written communication for anything that does not require a live conversation, and people on the ground for everything that needs a physical check.
On a practical level, a power of attorney is often needed for certain administrative procedures when you cannot be in Cameroon — we advise you on this according to your situation, in liaison with the relevant professionals.
Why use a firm rather than an informal middleman
A firm registered with the National Order of Architects of Cameroon takes professional responsibility for every project it supervises — something no informal middleman can offer. That makes all the difference when you cannot check for yourself, day to day, what is happening on your plot.
Frequently asked questions
How can I be sure my money is really being used on my site?+
Our independence from the contractors is the best guarantee: we put several companies in competition on the basis of detailed quotes, then check that the works invoiced match what has actually been built on site, with regular reports shared with you.
Do I need a power of attorney to build from abroad?+
It depends on the procedures that need to be completed in your absence. Depending on your situation, we tell you when a power of attorney is useful or necessary, in coordination with the relevant professionals.
Can I follow my site on video?+
Yes. Our reports include progress photos and videos, and we are available by video call for important milestones.
Do I need to come back to Cameroon during construction?+
No, it is not essential thanks to our remote supervision. Many of our diaspora clients only travel at key moments of the project, or even just for the final handover.
Do you only work with the diaspora in France?+
No. We support Cameroonian clients living in many countries — France, Belgium, the United States, Canada and beyond. Our remote supervision method adapts to each situation.
